Line illusion 6

This optical illusion is a slightly adapted version of the Hering Illusion which was discovered by the German physiologist Ewald Hering in 1861. Although the two horizontal lines are perfectly straight, the eye is tricked into thinking that they are sloping. This distortion is created due to the background lines which add depth to the illusion.
